Mark Chandler, Director of Government Relations; Professor of Practice, Department of Intelligence and Security Studies at Coastal Carolina University. Mark has served more than 35-years in DoD senior executive, command and senior leadership positions focused on national security policy, intelligence analysis, application, policy, and operations. Mark retired from the Marine Corps as an intelligence officer after serving around the globe and in multiple crisis environments. He is also retired from the Senior Executive Service ranks in Department of Defense intelligence and security policy arenas. Mark has held a variety of key positions including: Deputy J2 Joint Chiefs of Staff, Director of Defense Intelligence Agency’s Middle East and Africa Center, Director of Warfighter Support for Office of Secretary of Defense, Intelligence, Director of Intelligence Analysis, and Partnerships and Engagements for the U.S. Air Force. Mark holds a B.A. in Political Science from University of Alabama, Huntsville, and an M.S. in International Relations from Troy University. He continues to write on issues affecting U.S. intelligence observations, national policy concerns, and leadership.
Additionally, Mark recently founded CASIL (Chandler Associates for Strategy, Intelligence & Leadership). CASIL is a strategic advisory and education-focused initiative that equips individuals and organizations with the tools to navigate complexity and lead with confidence. Led by Mark, CASIL is dedicated to making complexity comprehensible, empowering clients to move forward with clarity, resilience, and purpose.
